David Allen Obituary FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA — Sergeant First Class David Allen, a decorated and respected non-commissioned officer in the United States Army, has died, military officials and family representatives confirmed. He was 38.
Allen, known for his steadfast leadership, dedication to service and deep commitment to the soldiers under his command, passed away on February 25, 2026 at his home following a brief, undisclosed illness, according to a statement released by the U.S. Army. His death has brought sorrow to his unit, military community and loved ones.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Allen enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2006 and over nearly two decades of service earned numerous commendations, including the Army Commendation Medal with Valor and multiple Army Achievement Medals for exemplary performance in both training and operational environments.
“Sergeant First Class Allen embodied the very best of our Army values,” said a spokesperson for the 82nd Airborne Division. “His leadership inspired those around him, and his quiet strength and selfless service will be deeply missed.”
